Jyothi Yarraji, a 23-year-old Andhra Pradesh athlete who specializes in the 100-meter hurdles, stole the show at the 26th National Federation Cup Athletics Championship on Thursday by winning the women's 200-meter event.
After setting a new meet record in her preferred event, the women's 100-meter hurdles, on Wednesday, Jyothi defeated the nation's best 200-meter female competitors on Thursday, including 28-year-old Archana Suseendran, to earn her second gold of the Federation Cup. Archana of Tamil Nadu won silver with a time of 23.61 seconds.
Jyothi beat the Asian Athletics Championship qualifying time of 23.50 seconds with her gold medal winning time of 23.42 seconds.
Rohit Yadav, an international javelin thrower, also performed well on Thursday. He performed steadily and won the gold with a personal best of 83.40m. His previous best was 82.54 meters. Silver was won by Manu DP with an 82.95m throw.
Gulveer Singh of Uttar Pradesh, who had already won the men's 10,000-meter gold on the first day, added the men's 5,000-meter gold earlier in the morning session.
With a timing of 13 minutes, 54.41 seconds, Gulveer Singh comfortably beat the 14-minute threshold for Asian qualification. Harman Jot Singh of Madhya Pradesh finished third in 13:57.02 seconds, while his statemate Abhishek Pal took home the silver medal in 13:56.32.

Amlan Borgohain (Assam), Animesh Kujur (Chattisgarh), and Kapil (Haryana) all finished the 200 meters in under twenty seconds.
5000m (Asian qualifying time 14 minutes): Gulveer Singh (UP), Abhishek Pal (UP), and Harman Jot Singh (MP) all finished in times of 13:54.41, 13:56.32, and 13:57.02 respectively.
Rohit Yadav (UP) threw the javelin 83.40 meters, Manu DP (Karnataka) 82.95 meters, and Sachin Yadav (UP) 80.27 meters (Asian championship qualifying record 78.23 meters).
Women
Jyothi Yarraji of Andhra Pradesh raced the 200 meters in 23.42 seconds, followed by Archana Suseendran of Tamil Nadu in 23.61 seconds and Himani Chandel of Madhya Pradesh in 24.23 seconds.
Ankita from Uttarakhand ran the 5000 meters in 15:49.49 seconds, Sanjivani Jadhav from Maharashtra ran it in 15:51.16 seconds, and Seema from Himachal Pradesh ran it in 16:11.72 seconds.
Rosy Meena Paulraj of Tamil Nadu cleared the bar at 4.10 meters in the pole vault, Pavithra Venkatesh of Tamil Nadu cleared the bar at 4.10 meters, and Baranica Elangovan of Tamil Nadu cleared the bar at 3.60 meters.
Rubina Yadav (Haryana) cleared 1.80 meters in the high jump, Angel P Devasia (Kerala) cleared 1.76 meters, and Khyati Mathur (UP) cleared 1.76 meters.
