<p>Rottach-Egern, a ninth-tier team, was gravely wrong in believing Bayern Munich would use Tuesday’s preseason encounter as an opportunity to gently shake off the rust after a significant hiatus. The merciless German champions ran up a 27-0 win.</p>
<p>The amateur team Rottach-Egern was all smiles as they posed for the pre-match photograph. <p>The grins soon faded, however, when Jamal Musiala scored Bayern’s first goal in the third minute, a goal that won Bayern’s championship after a late victory in the season finale.</p>
<p>Before changing his whole starting lineup for the second half, which was likewise one-way traffic, Bayern led by 18 goals at the interval.</p>
<p>Thirteen different players scored, including Musiala, Marcel Sabitzer, Mathys Tel, and Serge Gnabry, who scored five goals apiece.</p>
<p>“We’ve made progress from the beginning, and we worked really hard. Everyone is prepared, however it’s difficult and demanding,” Tuchel remarked after the game.</p>

<p>Bayern has a habit of playing Rottach-Egern in preseason, and they won 23-0 in 2019. In 2018, Rottach-Egern did manage to score twice in a game before losing 20-2.</p>
