<p>Umesh Yadav, an Indian fast bowler, has signed a contract with English side Essex to play in their last three County Championship games with them. <p>The 35-year-old played for India in the ICC World Test Championship championship match against Australia in June of this year. In his 57 Test matches to date, he has amassed 170 wickets at an average of 30.95, including three five-wicket hauls.</p>
<p>Umesh said on the Essex website, “I am incredibly thrilled to join Essex and contribute what I believe will be some key contributions to the team’s success this year.</p>
<p>In the middle of a championship chase, he said, “I enjoyed playing in England last season with Middlesex, and it will be good to return and test myself in those conditions again.”</p>
<p>Doug Bracewell, a New Zealand pacer, is being replaced by Umesh.</p>
<p>Anthony McGrath, the head coach of Essex, is optimistic that his extensive knowledge will help the club.</p>
<p>We all know what Umesh will be able to offer to our assault at a key point in the season, and he is a wonderful acquisition for us, McGrath remarked.</p>
<p>“We hope he can pass on some of his expertise to our young players too,” he said. “He is extremely experienced and has taken wickets at the highest levels of the game for more than a decade already.</p>
<p>Last year, Umesh played for Middlesex and got four wickets in three games, but his one-day cup injury forced him to leave the team early.</p>
<p>The reigning champions Surrey presently top Division One of the County Championship, with Essex in second place.</p>
<p>With players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Arshdeep Singh, and Prithvi Shaw playing for different clubs this year, Umesh is the most recent Indian to play domestic cricket in England.</p>
